Web3 and the metaverse have only just began. In the immediate future we will see a period of questioning, learning, construction and deconstruction in unprecedented speed. The web3 we know today might look completely different by next week and not recognizable by next month. Brands and retailers experimenting with web3 and the metaverse for sure need to take risks and rewards are not guaranteed. Yet, not getting starting today, bears the risk of being to late to the party ones the development skyrockets.
Because the metaverse will significantly reduce the still existing interfaces between real experience of work and consumption environments and virtually designed environments, information and product offers and work environments. The development speed of metaverse applications probably corresponds to the ratio of 10 metaverse year= 5 Internet years=1 real years. This exponential development is flat at the beginning. The question is how long, before it then increases very steeply. In the later steeper curve, entry is extremely much more expensive, and the early movers are hard to catch up with. With an early experimental participation, the starting places are secured, on basis of own experience to imagine applications for the own business fields, which open up only with the own active participation. It was no different with the Internet, only slower.
